  Cherry - Strong, fine grained and textured with a light-reddish brown color. Takes a beautiful polish.     Mahogany - Medium textured vanes from light color to darker. Heavy and hard.  
  Maple - Close grained, hard, strong and tough it takes a beautiful satiny polish.     Teak - Coarse texture. Seasons beautifully. Great for outdoor applications.  
  Oak - Hard, strong, durable, coarse textured and straight grained, oak wood takes a beautiful polish.     Rosewood - Extremely straight grained. Pinkish to purple-brown color with irregular black markings. Used mostly for small work.  
  Walnut - Light, soft, even grained and takes a beautiful polish.     African Ebony - Mostly used for inlays in quality furniture. Almost black in color with fine even grain.  
  Brazilian Tulipwood - Extremely vivid pink - yellow heartwood. Has a pronounced striped figure. Known for extensive use in the 1700s.     Beech - Very pale beige to samin brown color. Straight grained with a fine even texture.  
  Ash - Gray brown to reddish color with a coarse texture. Used extensively for bending.     African Padauk - Extreme blood red color which ages into a purple - brown color. Used mainly in high end cabinets and furniture.  
  Austrailian Blackwood - Reddish-brown to black in color with fine golden rings. Highly decorative with a lustrous appearance.     Honey Locus - Pink in color which ages to a light purple - brown color. Great with a clear rubbed finish.
